Jack Wilshire Named By Fabio Capello To England Squad For Hungary Friendly

England head coach Fabio Capello has named his 23-man squad for Wednesday's friendly with Hungary, with five players poised to make their first appearance for the Three Lions.

The youngest of the potential debutantes is Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshire. The 18-year-old has become a point of focus in the English media after the nation's disappointment at the World Cup, with the Gunner seen as one from the hopes of the country's youth ranks. Though Wilshire's made only two appearances for Arsenal, he impressed during his half-season at Bolton, where he scored one goal in 14 appearances after being loaned-out in January.

Others hoping to get their first cap are left back Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal), central defenders Gary Cahill (Bolton) and Michael Dawson (Tottenham), and forward Bobby Zamora (Fulham).

Those five are joined by nine other holdovers from the World Cup (Dawson having gone to South Africa): goalkeeper Joe Hart (Manchester City); defenders Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Glen Johnson (Liverpool) and John Terry (Chelsea); midfielders Gareth Barry (Manchester City), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), and James Milner (Aston Villa); and forward Wayne Rooney (Manchester United).

Wednesday's friendly is the final preparatory match England has before facing Bulgaria to open Euro 2012 qualifying on September 3.
