Receiver Colby Erskin was this year granted a sixth season of eligibility at the University of South Florida because of a rather extensive history of injuries, to wit: three of his four seasons there have ended with ACL tears.
And now, sadly, that's four in six.
During Saturday's practice, Erskin tore the ACL in his left knee, making it the third time he'd experienced a tear in the left knee.
Taken together with the fact that his career stat line at USF consisted of seven catches for 86 yards, it's probably safe to conclude that Erskin, unless he bears a masochistic desire to make sure he can't walk by age 30, will forgo a future career in the world of football.
