If you want exciting things to happen for your baseball team, fire your manager RIGHT NOW. The Orioles did it and now they're unstoppable. The Mariners fired their manager today and they just turned one of the most exciting plays in baseball...a triple play.
M's fans will be happy to know that Jose Lopez was involved and not as one of the base-runners. Lopez-Figgins-Kotchman is your official scoring, though it should be noted that A's hitter Mark Ellis might very well have been safe at first. This being the year of atrocious umpiring, that seems entirely plausible.
Regardless, Daren Brown is having a good day in his first as Mariner's manager against the A's. A little too good, if you ask M's blog Lookout Landing.
A triple play and a lead. Daren Brown is having one weird Mariner day.
