Eagles Vs. Packers: Packers Win, 27-20, As Andy Reid's Clock Management Fails Philly

Michael Vick’s fourth-down conversion attempt deep in Green Bay territory was stuffed.

Two minutes were left in the game, and the Eagles would’ve loved to stop the clock two or three times and get the ball back, but Andy Reid had played a very aggressive hand of time outs earlier in the half, leaving Philly high and dry. His most puzzling time out, the third and final, occurred after Green Bay had achieved a first down with five minutes to go.

Aaron Rodgers took a series of knees to kill the clock as Future Les Miles applauded from heaven.

Packers Vs. Eagles: David Akers Hits Field Goal After Vick Declines Scramble Touchdown, Packers Ahead 27-20

Michael Vick again moved the ball for Philly after rookie Nate Allen set the Eagles up with good field position by picking off an Aaron Rodgers pass. Allen was the Eagles’ selection with a pick they acquired by trading Donovan McNabb.

Vick threw for 41 more yards on the drive and turned a sure sack into a no-gainer out of bounds. In the red zone, he had what appeared to be a sure running touchdown but opted to fire a tipped pass towards DeSean Jackson at the back of the end zone. David Akers connected to draw the Eagles within a touchdown.

Green Bay again returned the kickoff to near midfield, and I’m just going to start copy-and-pasting that.

Packers Vs. Eagles: Michael Vick Leads Touchdown Drive, Eagles Close To 20-10

Michael Vick has now passed for 39 yards and run for 77, putting LeSean McCoy in position for a 12-yard touchdown run.

Vick broke out a vintage scramble to preserve the drive and enter the red zone, reversing field twice in the backfield and lowering his shoulder while being driven out of bounds. It made this room full of Falcons fans a little nauseous, so it must’ve been pretty good.
