We mentioned that the Denver Broncos had some injury issues at running back so trading for running back Laurence Maroney made sense.
We don't know the compensation involved in the trade but, assuming it's for a low draft pick, SB Nation's Mile High Report likes the move.
I really like this move for the Broncos. They are weak at RB after Knowshon Moreno. Correll Buckhalter is a veteran, but has clearly lost a step and is nowhere near as effective as he was last year. He's also very injury prone. Lance Ball and Andre Brown are both young players with little or no NFL action at all.
The trade makes even more sense once you take into account the Patriots connection. Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels previously worked under Patriots head coach Bil Belichick.
Check out Mile High Report to see what they're saying about the Laurence Maroney trade.
