The New England Patriots have traded running back Laurence Maroney to the Denver Broncos, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Details of the compensation aren't yet known.
The Broncos have had a rash of injuries at running back during training camp and the lead up to the season. Starter Knowshon Moreno missed time in the preseason with a hamstring injury but looked healthy rushing for 60 yards on 15 carries in the Broncos season opening loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Maroney has played his entire career in New England after they drafted him with the 21st overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft.
