Habs Finally Lock Up Carey Price, Sign Goalie To Two-Year Deal

Carey Price has finally been locked up by the Montreal Canadiens. The deal was announced by the club on Thursday afternoon. According to a few different reports on Twitter, the deal is worth $5.5 million.

Tony Marinaro of TEAM 990 reports that Price will receive $2.5 million the first year and $3 million in the second.

The Canadiens were boring in their press release, of course.

"We are extremely happy that Carey has agreed to pursue his career with the Canadiens. Carey is a key member of our Club. He has proven that he has what it takes to be a good goaltender in the league, and we are confident he will perform to the best of his abilities for years to come in a Canadiens uniform", said Canadiens general manager Pierre Gauthier.

No mention of all the issues he's been through in Montreal or the decision to trade Jaroslav Halak, who most people thought could be the next great Montreal goaltender.

We'll see if the decision was the right one soon enough, now. Carey Price has the job all to himself.
