Jay Cutler made news by explaining to Chicago media that the reason that the Bears offense hasn't looked all that impressive in the preseason is because the playcalling has been conservative to the point of being "cloak and dagger."
You might wonder why not throw caution to the wind if none of it matters. Well, there's one argument that says you don't want to give early season opponents an easy opportunity to scout you. Another is that this kind of thing tends to happen when you run trick plays in the preseason.
Not that Eli needs a certain number of reps before he remembers not to drop the ball, but something always finds a way to go wrong.

Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].
I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
