The Whale Is Back (Sort Of): AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack Changing Name To Connecticut Whale

It's been over 15 years since the Whalers left Harftord, Connecticut, but former owner Howard Baldwin is bringing a little piece of them back.

Baldwin, who recently took over business operations of the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, will rename the team the Connecticut Whale at a press conference on Monday afternoon . Several different media outlets, including the Harftord Courant, have reported the news.

↵

We'll just say it: the name "Whale" is kind of lame. Why wouldn't they just go with Whalers?

↵

No word on what the logo will look like, or when exactly the name change will take effect.
