Jair Jurrjens To Miss Second Straight Start With Knee Injury

So perhaps it's not all good news for Jair Jurrjens and the Braves. Though Jurrjens' injury wasn't believed to be very serious, he felt some pain while throwing in the bullpen, and will not be able to make his scheduled start on Sunday.

It'll be the second straight start Jurrjens has missed with his torn meniscus. Brandon Beachy will once again get the game ball.

Jair Jurrjens Has Small Tear In Meniscus

Jair Jurrjens' MRI results are back, and they're confusing to say the least:

Jair Jurrjens has a small horizontal meniscus tear. Will likely be able to make his next start. If he can't Beachy will get another start.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck

Meniscus tears are generally big deals, but if the Braves think Jurrjens will be able to make his next start, either I must be wrong, or the tear must be really, really small.

In filling in for Jurrjens on Monday night, rookie Brandon Beachy allowed three runs, four hits, and three walks over 4.1 innings against the Phillies. His or Jurrjens' next start will come this weekend against the Nationals.
