Michael Turner has had a frustrating season so far. He gained only 49 total yards and averaged only 2.2 yards per carry in the Falcons Week 1 loss to the Steelers. He was faring better in the home opener against the Cardinals, breaking off 75 yards on only nine carries, before leaving the game with a groin injury. It's a real shame for Turner owners, as back-up Jason Snelling gained 186 total yards and three touchdowns which essentially went for naught, unless you had the incredible foresight to start Jason Snelling.↵
It seems for now that will be Snelling's only chance to overtake the Falcons ground game, at least if Mike Smith is to be believed. The Falcons head coach said that Turner is fine and ready to go, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Orlando Ledbetter.
Snelling will be a sought-after waiver pick-up based solely on his monster game and the fact that most coaches can't really be trusted to give out the most accurate information about injuries to star players. Still, Snelling might find himself behind both Turner and Jerious Norwood once he returns.↵
