49ers OC Jimmy Raye Reportedly Fired After Loss To Chiefs

The San Francisco 49ers are reeling after their 31-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and an 0-3 start to the season. What was once thought to be a season that included a NFC West title is now turning into a total meltdown.

After the 49ers offense scored just three points in the first 59:57 of the game against the Chiefs, offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye has reportedly been fired.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports QB coach Mike Johnson will take over the coordinator duties.

After the loss on Sunday, David Fucillo of Niners Nation said the following:

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if somebody was on the chopping block after this week, with Jimmy Raye being the leading candidate. I'm not one to normally jump on the "Fire ____!" bandwagon, but what else would you do at this point?

Turns out he was right. In fact, it was Mike Singletary who said after the game that Raye would be the offensive coordinator all year when asked.

The 0-3 49ers head to Atlanta to play the Falcons, who just knocked off the defending world champion New Orleans Saints.
