Some people mark the start of football season by the onset of fall, or leaves changing colors. I like to use an uptick in stupidly insensitive remarks by concussion victims former football players as my benchmark. So I have MSG Plus' Dan Hampton to thank for ushering the season in for me.

"If you watched that playoff game last year, the Vikings need to go down and hit that town like Katrina. I think the Vikings go down there and get it done."
I suppose you don't hire a Hall of Fame defensive tackle with the nickname "Danimal" for his tact.

I live in New Orleans and people may fake a little outrage for the game, but I’m over Katrina related insults. I think the only time I really got pissed off was after the 06 NFC title game and the guy that had the sign “Bears finish what Katrina started!”. After that, you would probably have to show my house on a sign to really piss me off.
