2010 US Open, Day 7: Venus Williams And Sam Querrey Advance To Quarterfinals

Americans haven't had the best time at tennis' majors this year. That seems to be changing in New York at the 2010 US Open.

Venus Williams, who was ousted at the quarterfinals or before at the year's first three majors, will get a fourth chance to make her first Grand Slam semifinal of 2010. The third-seeded Williams beat Shahar Peer 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.

Sam Querrey became the second American man to make the fourth round at Flushing Meadows, beating Nicolas Almagro 6-3, 6-4, 6-4. Mardy Fish had already made the fourth round, and John Isner has yet to play his third round match.
