Hello from Huntsville, wish I was there in Atlanta with you guys!

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 6:43 PM EDT reply actions

Checking in from sunny southern CA.

by Holly Hedgepeth on Sep 5, 2010 6:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Central Indiana, here

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 6:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Hello from São Paulo, Brasil !!!

by Thalyta on Sep 5, 2010 6:49 PM EDT up reply actions

what’s “Hi” in Portugese?

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 6:53 PM EDT up reply actions

Tulsa, Oklahoma today..:)

by Sky inLas Vegas on Sep 5, 2010 6:59 PM EDT up reply actions

Oi (that’s how we say “Hi” in portuguese)

by Thalyta on Sep 5, 2010 7:01 PM EDT up reply actions

Humid, very humid Central Florida

by BoggsofHazard on Sep 5, 2010 7:02 PM EDT up reply actions

ok, seriously, what is Red Bull gonna do next year?

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 6:46 PM EDT reply actions

Great question. I would love to know that one myself.

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 6:47 PM EDT up reply actions

no offense to Scott Speed fans, but, really, what has he done to stay in Cup?

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 6:49 PM EDT up reply actions

He sells millions of Red Bulls! When I think of Red Bull and the type of person they are selling their product to, Scott Speed is who I think of.

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 6:50 PM EDT up reply actions

wow, really? i thought the only reason why they sold Red Bulls was because there was vodka in the world

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 6:52 PM EDT up reply actions

lol, i stand corrected, tho, i’m sure all those college students aren’t drinking Jager because of SS

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:12 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m a SS fan, don’t buy many red bulls, but maybe I will. ;) I think he needs some more time.

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 6:52 PM EDT up reply actions

Also, Red Bull has been “developing” Scott Speed for 10 years. He sucked in F1 and they bought him rides with Bill Davis and MWR so he could race. Red Bull has too much invested in Scott Speed to let him go because he hasn’t developed as fast as hoped. He almost won the ARCA championship. He’s not a bad driver, just hasn’t gotten the cup cars yet.

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 7:16 PM EDT up reply actions

I think you’ll see Scott Speed in the Nationwide series next year, then in 2012 he’ll come back to Cup and Cole Whitt will racing NW for Red Bull. If he’s not running top 10 in 2012, that’s when a decision will be made…

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 6:54 PM EDT up reply actions

It was doing ok at the beginning of the season,he seems had alot of bad luck this season combined with Red Bull looking very mediocre.
He’s a talented driver just needs things to start clicking

by RichyJ on Sep 5, 2010 7:49 PM EDT up reply actions

hello from so. cali here too!

by Yuuk on Sep 5, 2010 6:47 PM EDT reply actions

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 6:49 PM EDT reply actions

Greetings from Boston!

by mandysuemccaul on Sep 5, 2010 6:49 PM EDT reply actions

Hi everybody!!!

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 6:50 PM EDT reply actions

Ladies!

Everybody enjoy our week off???

:)

by Sky inLas Vegas on Sep 5, 2010 7:01 PM EDT up reply actions

Yes, recharged and ready for a good chat, I mean race! :)

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 7:04 PM EDT up reply actions

So, who are your picks for tonight? Mine is Kasey.

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 6:52 PM EDT reply actions

As always, I’m 18 all the way.

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 6:52 PM EDT up reply actions

That’s a good pick, too.

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 6:53 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m going with the “other Busch” to sweep

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 6:54 PM EDT up reply actions

with the old crew chief? I like Addington,, was sad to see him leave, but pleasantly surpised with Rogers.

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 6:56 PM EDT up reply actions

i gottta say kahne, too

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 6:53 PM EDT up reply actions

Yes. I think that’s the first time I’ve heard him speak without saying, “um”.

by Holly Hedgepeth on Sep 5, 2010 6:58 PM EDT up reply actions

i hope Trackpass works this weekend

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:03 PM EDT reply actions

it’s weird this season. i remember when winning Daytona and Indy, especially in same season led to winning championship and Jamie Mac is realistically not even going to make Chase. wow

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:06 PM EDT reply actions

You can’t say that for sure. We still have two races left and who knows what will happen to Clint.

by Holly Hedgepeth on Sep 5, 2010 7:08 PM EDT up reply actions

it has to be blown engine, IMHO, to snakebite Clint, and EGR engines just haven’t done that this year

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:10 PM EDT up reply actions

I agree. Clint could crash tonight and Jamie could make it. You never know in this sport.

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:11 PM EDT up reply actions

but i will eat my words if this comes to pass, lol

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:15 PM EDT up reply actions

of all stuff that has been said about momentum and chase and what not, seriously, until they rotate Chase tracks, as long as JJ makes it, does anybody really see him losing a championship?

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:09 PM EDT reply actions

Uh, yeah. I do. Look at Kevin Harvick. He’s held onto it all season.

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:10 PM EDT up reply actions

but JJ owns the Chase tracks

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:10 PM EDT up reply actions

True. We’ll see how Chad Knaus does tonight. See if they get the right setup. ;)

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:13 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t see him losing it, but I can see someone else taking it. But they will have to be on their game!

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 7:10 PM EDT up reply actions

i agree, but we’ve seen in past few years that JJ really has to lose it

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:11 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m not a JJ suporter but I can’t see any other driver winning the chase but him

by Thalyta on Sep 5, 2010 7:13 PM EDT up reply actions

which is exactly why i’ve suggested rotating tracks in a 3 year year rotation, which allows fans to know where they’re gonna be

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:14 PM EDT up reply actions

Me neither. I can see Harvick taking it from him, though. Maybe Denny Hamlin.

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:15 PM EDT up reply actions

if DJ really wanted to scare Erin Andrews, he shoulda tried to cop a feel, oooops, lol

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:16 PM EDT reply actions

Haven’t seen her much, but she doesn’t seem any different from any other female sideline reporter

by MT Hundley on Sep 5, 2010 7:21 PM EDT up reply actions

Hello..

How can you miss her? with the stalker and the Dancing With the Stars??

Overexposed, no pun intended..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Sep 5, 2010 7:22 PM EDT up reply actions

Oh I know who she is

just not impressed with her abilities as reporter

by MT Hundley on Sep 5, 2010 7:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Apparently I am alone on this

but I think she is hot as hell. She actually does a pretty good job on the sidelines as well. The only real fault she seems to have is being a Gator.

by soundguy79 on Sep 5, 2010 7:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Woah now!!!

Just because Gators were atrocious (sp) yesterday, there’s no need to get crazy. ;)

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 7:26 PM EDT up reply actions

Gaors Suck

Regardless of what day it is.

GO DAWGS!!!

by soundguy79 on Sep 5, 2010 7:26 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t know about the Gaors, but us Gators will see you in Jax at the end of October! SEC!!! :)

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 7:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Who???

JUST KIDDING! You know how us southerners are about our fooosball…

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 7:29 PM EDT up reply actions

and I will be there as well. The Cocktail party is always a blast

by soundguy79 on Sep 5, 2010 7:34 PM EDT up reply actions

Yes it is, and as a life long Gator I know how to be humble. If I had forgot Saturday was a great reminder.

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 7:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah because..

Being “hot” SO qualifies a reporter for a job…

….rolling eyes…

by Sky inLas Vegas on Sep 5, 2010 7:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Thank you

You took the words out of my mouth

by MT Hundley on Sep 5, 2010 7:28 PM EDT up reply actions

all sideline reporters give roughly the same info. Personally I would rather have that info delivered by an attractive girl rather than, say, Holly Rowe. So in this case being hot actually DOES qualify her for the job.

by soundguy79 on Sep 5, 2010 7:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Ugh. Completely agree.

by mandysuemccaul on Sep 5, 2010 7:18 PM EDT reply actions

Lance and Dale

Did you hear Hendrick’s comment about Lance and Dale’s chemistry? HAHA.

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:20 PM EDT reply actions

I not a fan nor a hater of Jr, and I really like Lance but this is the 1 time I have to question Hendrick’s judgement! Clearly those guys don’t have chemistry! if the 88 & 5 both miss the race, I think they need to swap crews, teams, etc.

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 7:24 PM EDT up reply actions

Took the words from my mouth! But I’m a semi-fan.

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:25 PM EDT up reply actions

honestly, prolly a dead horse, but should have never let Darian Grubb go

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:30 PM EDT up reply actions

She really is cute. She and her father have the same profile.

by mandysuemccaul on Sep 5, 2010 7:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Papa's car!!

Oh yeah, just a leeeeetle pressure tonight..;)

by Sky inLas Vegas on Sep 5, 2010 7:25 PM EDT reply actions

is she watching at track?

by Yuuk on Sep 5, 2010 7:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Yep, she was just on TV with Jeff. She designed his car for tonight.

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Love him

but can he beat Taylor’s prayer?

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 7:31 PM EDT up reply actions

Another version of the Anthem?!

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:32 PM EDT up reply actions

Just kidding! This is ten times better than the last few!

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:32 PM EDT up reply actions

this is prolly gonna piss a lot of people off, but i hate that there is an invocation tied to the national anthem at these races. (i sit down unitl anthem)

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:31 PM EDT reply actions

Oh man…there’s one topic even I’m afraid to broach.

by Jeff Gluck on Sep 5, 2010 7:35 PM EDT up reply actions

ha, i don’t mind tackling that issue

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:36 PM EDT up reply actions

hey, Jeff, how’s this anthem, lol?

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:32 PM EDT reply actions

Finally an Anthem that doesn’t make my ears bleed!

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 7:33 PM EDT up reply actions

seriously, a boy band??

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:36 PM EDT up reply actions

5 days from now, we’ll forget this ever happened. I till remember the horrible anthem at Atlanta several years ago!

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 7:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Hello?

Guess you guys started without me :)

by Jeff Gluck on Sep 5, 2010 7:32 PM EDT reply actions

Welcome to our chat Jeff!

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 7:33 PM EDT up reply actions

You out of breath from running to the media center?

by mandysuemccaul on Sep 5, 2010 7:33 PM EDT up reply actions

I was going to say the same thing.

by Holly Hedgepeth on Sep 5, 2010 7:34 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m sorry but is this Anthem really happening? Matt Kenseth looked like he was about to bust out laughing.

by mandysuemccaul on Sep 5, 2010 7:33 PM EDT reply actions

I know!

Give me a real, but offkey rather than a FAKE one!

by Sky inLas Vegas on Sep 5, 2010 7:34 PM EDT up reply actions

I didn't like the anthem

I’m sorry, but that was so cheesy.

by Jeff Gluck on Sep 5, 2010 7:34 PM EDT reply actions

My whole family laughed.

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:35 PM EDT up reply actions

I laughed. I know that’s wrong but I did.

by Holly Hedgepeth on Sep 5, 2010 7:35 PM EDT up reply actions

I was just saying to my dad, “when do 5 guys get together and decide it’s a good idea to sing opera style anthems?”

by BoggsofHazard on Sep 5, 2010 7:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Dude..

It was awful..Not offkey awful, um, overproduced and fake awful..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Sep 5, 2010 7:35 PM EDT up reply actions

why we can’t get good one?!?

by Yuuk on Sep 5, 2010 7:36 PM EDT up reply actions

agreed, i wanted to sit back down, lol

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Agree, thought it was terrible

by MT Hundley on Sep 5, 2010 7:38 PM EDT up reply actions

Flying Cars

We had cars lying last race. Anyone think we’ll have flying cars tonight?

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 7:38 PM EDT reply actions

No, too much at stake

by MT Hundley on Sep 5, 2010 7:39 PM EDT up reply actions

I got THRASHED on Twitter

for not liking the anthem. Most people outside of this chat room liked it.

by Jeff Gluck on Sep 5, 2010 7:39 PM EDT reply actions

can’t trust those twitter folks ;)

by BoggsofHazard on Sep 5, 2010 7:40 PM EDT up reply actions

The anthem was completely embarrassing. But not as bad as Robin Meade!

by mandysuemccaul on Sep 5, 2010 7:40 PM EDT up reply actions

your twitter friends are idiots, lol

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Longest. Command. Ever.

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 7:39 PM EDT reply actions

He had a heart transplant! Bad choice. If he got too excited, what would happen?

by Jeff Gluck on Sep 5, 2010 7:41 PM EDT up reply actions

now i feel bad
(of course i don’t, i’m a sick puppy, lol)

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:42 PM EDT up reply actions

seriously, PA announcer needs to stop smoking

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:40 PM EDT reply actions

So agree with that! Why would you have someone who sounds like that as an announcer>

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 7:40 PM EDT up reply actions

i was there last year

and im not this year. it kinda sucks not to be there. P.S that command sucked

by hotrodjess on Sep 5, 2010 7:40 PM EDT reply actions

Who named him

Mr 500? this has the feel of a self imposed nickname

by soundguy79 on Sep 5, 2010 7:41 PM EDT reply actions

Because he was the 500th heart transplant recipient at the local hospital.

by Jeff Gluck on Sep 5, 2010 7:41 PM EDT up reply actions

fair enough. Missed that. So all you have to do is go out and have a heart transplant and you can do the command?

by soundguy79 on Sep 5, 2010 7:42 PM EDT up reply actions

Gotta be #500. Kinda like walking into a store and being the 1,000,000th customer..do stores even do that??

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 7:44 PM EDT up reply actions

It's part of deal w/ sponsor of race

Emory Healthcare, do you ever read anything about NASCAR races?

by MT Hundley on Sep 5, 2010 7:44 PM EDT up reply actions

irony = heart transplant in heart of tobacco country (except for CLT)

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:43 PM EDT up reply actions

Amazing the crowd at Atlanta when they get a good date that isn’t cold or raining.

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 7:42 PM EDT reply actions

atlanta and pro sports don’t go hand in hand

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:45 PM EDT up reply actions

One of the longest surviving heart transplant recipients..

Is Carroll Shelby…

I didn’t know that until I went to dinner with him last March!

by Sky inLas Vegas on Sep 5, 2010 7:42 PM EDT reply actions

Go Matt!

He only has 29 cars to pass ;)

by Good2go on Sep 5, 2010 7:46 PM EDT reply actions

Go Jamie!!! It would be the cap of a great season if he could make up the deficit and make the chase. He claims not to care or pay attention, but that can’t even possible.

by mandysuemccaul on Sep 5, 2010 7:47 PM EDT up reply actions

Kasey. He ran great last night in Nationwide until the car went screwy.

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:48 PM EDT up reply actions

Think I’m gonna pick “Papa’s Car”

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 7:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Add me in to the Jamie pool.

And a early Bowyer wreck/engine woes wouldn’t make me shed any tears, either.

He wasn't very fast..

So I should really go for someone else, realistically..

But, Jeff is the BEST “money” racer in the bunch…

He is due for a win, and his daughter designed the car..

If he can, he’s gonna win..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Sep 5, 2010 7:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Look or an early caution to clean up the fire cracker remains on the back stretch!

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 7:48 PM EDT reply actions

24!

He’s not my fave driver but I think it’s time for him end the streak.

by Karla Figueroa on Sep 5, 2010 7:49 PM EDT reply actions

i am a fan and i see him winless this year for first time

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:50 PM EDT up reply actions

by kahnefanatic on Sep 5, 2010 7:54 PM EDT up reply actions

What's everyone eating for the race?

You know… the important question. I haven’t decided yet, but about to drink a whole bunch of Bud Light!

by mandysuemccaul on Sep 5, 2010 7:52 PM EDT reply actions

Taco salad. that’s what they’re serving up here.

by Jeff Gluck on Sep 5, 2010 7:53 PM EDT up reply actions

That’s a specialty here in GA

by soundguy79 on Sep 5, 2010 7:54 PM EDT up reply actions

I had Brisket at Bristol in the Toyota Racing Suite. It was GOOD! :) My wife just brought me quesadilla so looks like that’s what I’m getting!

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 7:56 PM EDT up reply actions

Question

So at the tweetup today, I took a poll of fans…who they thought would win the Cup title.

Most said Harvick, including Kevin Conway. A few said Jimmie Johnson.

Only ONE said Denny Hamlin. Also, Hamlin doesn’t get that much noise from the crowd each week.

What is it about Hamlin people don’t like or believe in?

by Jeff Gluck on Sep 5, 2010 7:56 PM EDT reply actions

JJ, until they change the Chase tracks, cuz he owns em

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 7:57 PM EDT up reply actions

Mine is a toss up between Hamlin and Harvick. I think Denny can do it. He’s proven that he is a complete beast in a racecar. On the other hand, Harvick has held on to that top spot all season…

by Holly Machuga on Sep 5, 2010 7:58 PM EDT up reply actions

Too vanilla..

Almost like he doesn’t have any “fire”..

by Sky inLas Vegas on Sep 5, 2010 7:58 PM EDT up reply actions

I like him. Even when he and Kyle are fighting.

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 7:58 PM EDT up reply actions

I’d wager it’s not a matter of like or dislike….more indifference?

I won’t cheer him…but I won’t boo him either. He’s not a blip on my radar.

twitter: ChicknLil

by ChicknLil on Sep 5, 2010 7:58 PM EDT up reply actions

i’d pick denny…well you know the reason, jeff!

by Yuuk on Sep 5, 2010 8:00 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m thinking Harvick.

by BoggsofHazard on Sep 5, 2010 8:04 PM EDT up reply actions

I actually didn’t start liking him at all til this year. The past few seasons he’s made comments about his faith which is a massive turn off to me. Maybe he was under Joe Gibbs thumb a bit too much. This season it seems like his “true” personality is coming out. He’s a lot more outspoken and seems like he’s coming into his own with the media. I would like to see him win a championship.

by mandysuemccaul on Sep 5, 2010 7:58 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah- sorry- I posted under the wrong spot!

by mandysuemccaul on Sep 5, 2010 8:03 PM EDT reply actions

Change Subject

This is about the time of the race we change the subject. Today, I have a suggestion on how to set the chase field: Top 4 cars in points, then the highest 4 in # wins, then the 4 highest in laps led. That will reward guys who race hard, but not penalize guys for running conservative.

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 8:28 PM EDT reply actions

Too complicated though…fans won’t respond well to it.

by Yuuk on Sep 5, 2010 8:31 PM EDT up reply actions

I like it. Run a while and get 20-25 cars on the lead lap. I really think you get better racing with less cars on the lead lap. You don’t have to worry about dropping to 40th racing for the lead. Also makes for better pit strategies.

question: people have made a big deal about chemistry between Jr and McGrew, but what about Logano and Zippy? It’s been two years and they seem nowhere near the other two cars in that stable.

I’m sticking to the ban on testing being biggest problem for him.

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 8:58 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t think you’ll find many people that disagree. I think even he and JD have stated they brought him up too early; but they had to because of Tony’s departure a year earlier than expected.

is there any chance jamie could make the chase or is he too far behind bowyer?

by asc82005 on Sep 5, 2010 9:43 PM EDT reply actions

He could. He has to finish in the top 5 and Bowyer would have to finish in the 20’s.

by Holly Hedgepeth on Sep 5, 2010 9:44 PM EDT up reply actions

He’s closed in…and right now he’s eighth, Bowyer is 13th.

If it stayed like that, he’d need Bowyer to have a bad week at Richmond next week. It’s not impossible though.

Practices for night races

I’ve asked this question twice on Twitter tonight and haven’t gotten a response. Question: Why do they practice in the afternoon for night races? Seems like such a waste of resources to me, since none of the data translates to night racing. They always make so many changes after practice. Why don’t they practice at night?

mrsdcb

by mrsdcb on Sep 5, 2010 9:55 PM EDT reply actions

I always wondered that as well

by Len_DiJoseph on Sep 5, 2010 9:55 PM EDT up reply actions

Soundguy79 is right…they had the Nationwide race last night, and it’s only a two-day show here. So that’s about all the time they have…in the day.

It’s a crew chief’s job to anticipate how the track will change at night.

by Sky inLas Vegas on Sep 5, 2010 9:58 PM EDT up reply actions

Logistics & budget

They want fans to attend but not spend too much. Race teams spending too much to have everyone there for multiple days, trying to cut costs

by MT Hundley on Sep 5, 2010 9:58 PM EDT up reply actions

Still…why not run the NW race yesterday afternoon and cup practice last night??

mrsdcb

by mrsdcb on Sep 5, 2010 9:59 PM EDT up reply actions

Because TV rules the world and they had college football yesterday afternoon.

by Jeff Gluck on Sep 5, 2010 10:00 PM EDT up reply actions

The stopped running Cup practice after nationwide several years ago because guys would run the NW race then make changes and practice afterwards.

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 10:01 PM EDT up reply actions

Open testing was brought up earlier, but does anyone else think that it would actually drive the cost back down and be more fair. Less cost = getting out of windtunnel which seems more expensive than renting track

Carl Edwards

I think this would be an easy story…

At the place where Carl Edwards became a villain to much of NASCAR nation by flipping Brad Keselowski in the spring, the Roush Fenway Racing driver made a triumphant return to Atlanta with a different kind of flip.

did he run any green flag laps after pitting?

by kwms on Sep 5, 2010 10:38 PM EDT up reply actions

The entire field is tail end of the 29. He’s on a lap by himself!

Can you believe that?!?! That sucks!

by Holly Hedgepeth on Sep 5, 2010 10:41 PM EDT up reply actions

how is that when he caused the caution?

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 10:42 PM EDT up reply actions

He didn’t pit. He put the field down, then caused the caution. Now everyone is a lap down to him. Gordon can only get the wave around if he stays out and pits immediately! Weird!

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 10:43 PM EDT up reply actions

That sucks because he came down pit road instead the track.

by Holly Hedgepeth on Sep 5, 2010 10:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Since Jeff can’t seem to keep it there..;)

Remember back in the day, Jeff could take 2 tires and pull away from guys with 4. Now he takes 4 and loses to guys with none!

by Eric Mitz on Sep 5, 2010 11:42 PM EDT up reply actions

Give Kasey respect for doing that right. Someone needs to show Carl that!

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 11:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Agree 100% – Edwards needs to learn that!!!

Can’t believe the difference in guys like JImmie, Kasey, Gordon, etc. when they get wronged compared to Tony, Kyle, etc.!

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 11:46 PM EDT reply actions

they know how to control their cars

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 11:47 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, but I’m more talking about the maturity.

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 11:48 PM EDT up reply actions

I assume you’re talking about Kyle vs Kes at Bristol? I’m pretty sure Kasey just did exactly what Kyle did, the only difference being Newman figure out how to save the car.

by Eric Mitz on Sep 5, 2010 11:48 PM EDT up reply actions

it’s a lot easier to save when you’re just nudged, not run over. A nudge is all it takes.

by The_Fake_Nick on Sep 5, 2010 11:49 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m talking about Kasey calmly explained to Ryan why he was pissed instead of airing his dirty laundry to the TV camera or stomping his feet.

by jshaunburke on Sep 5, 2010 11:49 PM EDT up reply actions

i think Carl needs to learn from KK. that’s how you really get back at somebody. It comes down to car control

And a halfway decent female reporter..

Although she knows her stuff, she sounds like a overzealous radio DJ hawking an advertisement everytime she speaks..

Just talk normally, Nicole..

I like her too, but IMO, you can tell her husband races for Penske in her reporting.
