The Ravens signed WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh on Monday one day after long-time Ravens LB Ray Lewis reached out to the former Seattle receiver.
"Ray said, 'If you want to win, this is the place to be,''' Houshmandzadeh told USA TODAY Monday after agreeing to a one-year, $855,000 deal with the Ravens. "The way he is on the field is how he is off the field. Passionate. Our conversation was passionate and insightful. "I know from competing againt those guys when I was in Cincinnati how it is in Baltimore.''
Houshmandzadeh went on to say that there are only five or six teams with a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl this year and the Ravens are one of them with or without him.
It's hard to say Houshmandzadeh's a downgrade at receiver so Baltimore is definitely considered a contender.
