Chris Johnson Expects To Rush For 2,500 Yards, Faith Hill Likes His Teeth

From the Tennessean:

"The goal is 2,500 so I am going to stick to that. I feel like it is very realistic. People didn't think 2,000 was realistic when I set the goal last year and I made a lot of people believers, so I am going to stick to that.''

That's Chris Johnson speaking. The same man that had this to say earlier this year:

"I made a decision to change my nickname to Every Coach’s Dream. I feel like I’m the best player in the NFL. What more can a coach want from the position? You’ve still got people debating — is it Chris Johnson or Adrian Peterson? No way possible there should be a debate about who’s the best running back in the NFL.”
SO MUCH SWAGGER.

Star-divide

2,500 YARDS SWAGGER. EVERY COACH'S DREAM SWAGGER. Debate between he and Adrian Peterson? THE DEBATE CLUB AIN'T GOT ENOUGH SWAGGER, SON!

WE OVER HERE EATIN LUNCH WITH FAITH HILL.

Wait, what?

...

Yeah, that happened.

...

2,500 yards may still happen, and Chris Johnson talking like the football Second Coming is definitely happening, but no matter what happens, that happened.

So as big as Chris Johnson gets, and as great as he is, we'll always have that one time where his PR team forced him to sit down and talk about his gold teeth with Faith Hill. Never forget.

SWAGGER? ... Not so much.

Chris Johnson isn't as good as he thinks he is

He’s probably one of the top 2-3 running backs in the league but if you look at the number of carries he had his yardage seems a lot less impressive. He should be praised for durability but on a team with another real offensive threat which the Titans simply don’t have he would be a 1000-1300 rusher. Great but not record breaking.

You’re right. 5.6 ypc is atrocious. Not even half of DeSean Jackson’s rushing average last season!

If I am good I could add years to my life / I would rather add some life to my years.

2000 yard rushers

Chris Johnson 5.6 ypc (358 carries)
Terrell Davis 5.1 ypc (392 carries)
Barry Sanders 6.1 ypc (335 carries)
Jamal Lewis 5.3 ypc (387 carries)
Eric Dickerson 5.6 ypc (390 carries)

If anything, CJ running for 2,000 yards on a team with no other offensive threats makes it more impressive. Teams focuses a lot less on defending the pass against them and he was still beating them. I would say his, Dickerson’s, and Sander’s 2000 yard seasons were all equally impressive.

"I'm from Maryland, and no one can beat me!"
