NFL Week 1 Preview, Prediction: Dallas Cowboys Vs. Washington Redskins

Dallas Cowboys (0-0) vs. Washington Redskins (0-0)

When: 8:20 p.m. Sunday, NBC

SB Nation Cowboys: Blogging The Boys

SB Nation Redskins: Hogs Haven

Breakdown: It's hard to find any advantage the Redskins have in this game. They're out-matched at almost every position. The key for them in this game is to get to QB Tony Romo early and often in order to avoid him getting into a rhythm. For the Cowboys, it's about showing why they're one of the best offenses in the NFL.

Player to Watch: QB Donovan McNabb is entering his first regular season game as a Redskin so he'll be the focal point. How he makes this weak Redskins receiving corps better will be a key to the game. If this were the Jason Campbell-led Redskins, then the Cowboys would be more than a touchdown favorite so McNabb's influence is important to note.

Line: Cowboys are 3.5 point favorites.

Prediction: The Cowboys should be able to take care of business in this game even with McNabb leading the Redskins. This is a rivalry game so look for it to stay close but the Cowboys will come out by a field goal or more.

It’s hard to find any advantage the Redskins have in this game

Cowboys will be without two of their starting OL..thats a huge one right there. The Redskins have been game-filming for 9 months (seriously) while the Cowboys have almost nothing to work with…which Wade Phillips has iterated himself this week. The Redskins also have a better Kicker and arguably special teams coverage. I don’t see the Redskins losing. Romo’s never played particularly well at Fedex either.

I'm rooting for us to win, too, Kevin,

but “I don’t see the Redskins losing” might be a bit much..

This is a joke, right?

You can game film all you want. The fact that Dallas has two new starters, for now, on the OL goes to show that your film is outdated and should be thrown out. As far as kicker goes, don’t underestimate David Buehler. He might be the hidden gem the Cowboys need in this game. Oh yeah, and some guy named Dez Bryant.

The first time Dallas lines up in a 4 wide set, the Skins might as well just give up the 6 points, cause they’re not covering Dez, Austin, Williams, and Hurd all at the same time. And if they do, there’s good old trusty Jason Witten just waiting for the safety valve pass.

Dallas wins easily.

I think your “homer” is showing.

the Cowboys are 3.5 favorites

you don’t have to be a homer to see that.

3.5 Faves on the road.
