The 25 year old Chris Nelson has stolen 72 bases over his seven-year minor league career, but he came into action on Thursday looking for his first in the bigs. I'd say this is a pretty good way to make an instant impression.
Nelson turned a 5-5 game into a 6-5 lead, a lead closer Huston Street would nail down an inning later as the Rockies swept the Reds to remain white-hot.
Nelson is the 15th runner in Rockies history to steal home, but I'm guessing not one of them made it look so darn easy. Interestingly enough, it wasn't even supposed to happen this way; according to Nelson, he scored on what was a busted squeeze.
