Luc Richard Mbah a Moute is a restricted free agent this season, meaning the Milwaukee Bucks will be eligible to match any offers he receives from other NBA teams. Considering he's one of the best defenders in the league, even if it isn't known to casual viewers, the Bucks will likely have to pony up a bit more than the one million dollars he's currently scheduled to make next season.
Mbah a Moute's tough defensive is complemented by his being a solid rebounder and the ability to play both forward positions. His troubles, however, stem from the offensive side of the ball -- as SB Nation's Tom Ziller broke down in his post regarding the top NBA free agents.
But where it looks like Green is not a good offensive player and may never be, it's pretty much certain that Luc is a bad offensive player and will likely always be. He has little range, no dribble-drive game to speak of and impossibly light playmaking ability. He's basically a smaller Chuck Hayes. I do not recommend that he puts that on his CV.
Though he may not be good on offense, his defense probably makes him worth a shot regardless by another team, something Mbah a Moute discussed while talking with USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt over the weekend.
"Free agency can be a little stressful because you never know what the situation is going to be," Mbah a Moute said of his status with the Bucks. " But it's also exciting to be in this position. I've put in the work and have a future where teams can use my service."
It's likely someone will extend an offer to Mbah a Moute, but the Bucks will likely reply by matching any offers before the wing find himself outside of Wisconsin next season.
