Nick Young has been a bit of an enigma so far in his NBA career as he seems to have quite a bit of potential, ridiculous upside even, but has yet to really put it all together through his first four seasons in the NBA. His fifth season is currently in a bit of disarray as he's a restricted free agent, but considering his talents, it's likely the Washington Wizards will match most offers.
Young improved on his overall efficiency last season thanks in part to his becoming an even better shooter while seeming a bit more interested on the defensive end -- even if the results didn't exactly lead to any significant changes in the way most watch him play basketball.
His one problem, though, is his offense is pretty limited aside from passing. SB Nation's Tom Ziller had an interesting note about that in his post on the top NBA free agents.
41. Nick Young: Among the 57 guards who played at least 2,000 minutes last season, Young had the second lowest assist rate (6.6 percent), beaten only by Jodie Meeks.
Young isn't likely to head anywhere during this lockout-shortened free agency period. If he accepts just the restricted offer from the Wizards this season and continues to improve, however, he could be an interesting option next offseason.
