Grant Hill has elected to sign a one-year, $6.5 million deal to remain with the Phoenix Suns, according to a report.
Grant Hill has elected to sign a one-year, $6.5 million deal to remain with the Phoenix Suns, according to a report from Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic. Hill had many suitors, with the New York Knicks near the top of the list, but has elected to remain in the spot where he has experienced a career renaissance of sorts.
Hill had arguably his best season last year since the many ankle injuries stunted his rise as one of the league's superstars. He averaged 13.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 48 percent from the field and guarding multiple positions for a Suns team that lacked size. The 39-year old has been healthy with the Suns' doctors monitoring him and evidently believed it was important to stay with them.
The Knicks were in pursuit, but in the end, it appears they were used as leverage for Hill to get a better deal from the Suns.
