Do you like poor basketball? Boy, do we have a game for you! Some may call it physical, scrappy, and well defended, but most will call the 2011 March Madness game between USC and VCU what it is: Substandard basketball. Both of these teams have put in some solid performances so far this season, hence their at large bids into the NCAA Tournament, but it's been a struggle so far in this play-in game in Dayton, Ohio, as the teams are tied up at a score of 22-22.
USC is shooting a not so stellar 40 percent from the field, but their play is hardly embarrassing. VCU have been considerably less picky with their shot selection, and they're shooting a putrid 28.1 percent from the floor. However, thanks to the high rate of shots they take and some respectable work on the offensive glass, they're tied with the Trojans going into the second half.
The winner of this game gets the right to likely lose to Georgetown, which I hopefully did not just jinx.
