Butler's Matt Howard made the game-winning lay-up to beat Old Dominion with a tenth of a second left on the clock, and just like that, March Madness is officially underway. Video comes courtesy of Mocksession.com:
Excuse me, but... HELL YEAH. It feels so good to have March Madness back in our lives.
Even though it was a pretty ugly game between the eight and nine seeds in the east region, you couldn't have scripted a closer ending, and in the end, that's why we watch. I mean, literally. The ball left Howard's hands with .1 second on the clock.
And after foul trouble dogged Butler for most of the game, we got to see a little bit of the magic that carried them last spring. For Old Dominion, of course, it's a pretty backbreaking way to lose. For fans like us, though, it's a pretty great reminder of what's in store for the next few weeks. More buzzer beaters, please.
