George Mason basketball, which made itself the most famous March Madness Cinderella back in 2006, entered its first 2011 NCAA Tournament game as a favorite this time around. Seeded 8th, Mason is facing No. 9 Villanova in the second round. At the break, it's 'Nova with the lead by a score of 35-29. But it could be a lot worse for the Patriots.
Mason started cold, and Villanova was able to capitalize by hitting shots and out-rebounding Mason. The deficit was 10 for GMU late in the half, but the Patriots put together a run to end the first period and enter the locker room down just six.
The two Coreys -- Stokes and Fisher -- lead the way for Villanova early, with 11 and 13 points, respectively. For Mason, Luke Hancock is the leading scorer with six points.
