NCAA Bracket Update, Washington Vs. Georgia: Huskies Survive Furious Rally To Advance, 68-65

The Georgia Bulldogs made a frantic late run, but couldn’t quite catch up to the Washington Huskies as the second round of the NCAA Tournament wound down on Friday night. The Huskies came out of the half firing, jumping out to an early double-digit lead after knotting the game just before halftime. But Georgia answered with a late run before running out of time as the Huskies prevailed, 68-65.

The Bulldogs cut the deficit to two with just seven seconds to go before Justin Holiday stepped to the line with a chance to seal it for the Huskies. Holiday hit one of two free throws, giving the Bulldogs one last chance. A three-quarter court pass led to a desperation three-point attempt by Travis Leslie that never had a chance as Washington survived the rally.

The Huskies move on to face North Carolina on Sunday in Charlotte. The Tar Heels won a track meet earlier on Friday, defeating Long Island, 102-87.
