Arizona completed its comeback in its Elite Eight game against Connecticut, but it was short-lived. The Huskies responded to Arizona's 12-3 run with seven straight points of their own to take a 43-37 lead.
After Connecticut scored the first points of the second half, Arizona went on a 9-0 run to tie the game. Kyle Fogg completed the run when he knocked down a three-pointer from the left wing ti tie the score at 34. The Wildcats' run was stopped when Charles Okwandu tipped in a miss by Jeremy Lamb, but Arizona kept coming.
Derrick Williams made an incredible spin move in the paint to give Arizona a 37-36 lead with 14:20 left, its first lead since the 6:50 mark of the first half. It didn't last long, though. Alex Oriakhi made a drop step to get a layup, and then Kemba Walker kissed a floater off the glass after a spin move. After Arizona missed a wide open three, Walker found Jeremy Lamb behind the arc, and Lamb knocked it in to put UConn back up 43-37 with 13:08 remaining.
