Arizona Vs. UConn: Jeremy Lamb Leads 10-0 Huskies Run, Puts UConn Up Seven

Stay connected with SB Nation

Just when Arizona looked to be gaining control, UConn grabbed it right back in this Elite Eight showdown. The Huskies responded to Arizona's 8-0 run with a 10-0 run of their own to take a 62-55 lead with 2:58 remaining in the game.

Derrick Williams hit two free throws to give Arizona a 55-52 lead and complete an 8-0 Wildcats run, but UConn responded. Jeremy Lamb hit a floater on the ensuing possession to finally stop the Wildcats' hot streak, and then hit a mid-range jumper from the corner to give UConn a 56-55 lead with 5:40 remaining.

After another Arizona miss, Kemba Walker finally took charge. Walker, who hadn't scored in a while, drove into the lane and hit a fadeaway jumper off the rim and in with a hand in his face. UConn then clamped down defensively and forced Williams into a deep three that he missed with the shot clock expiring, then got a huge putback by Alex Oriakhi after Jeremy Lamb had to fling a wild shot with the shot clock expiring. Lamb then completed the run by stealing a Williams pass and racing in for a dunk to give UConn the seven-point lead.
