Is Matt Barkley headed to the NFL? The USC quarterback is conducting a Thursday press conference to announce his decision.
Have the Trojans seen the last of Matt Barkley? The USC quarterback is conducting a press conference on Thursday afternoon to announce his decision regarding the 2012 NFL draft. Many expect the junior to declare for the NFL draft as he's one of the top quarterback prospects available.
If he did decide to leave USC it wouldn't be a surprise because he'll likely be one of the top three quarterbacks available, along with Stanford's Andrew Luck and Baylor's Robert Griffin III.
Barkley, 21, is listed at 6'2" and 220 pounds. He was a three-year starter after entering USC as one of the top ranked high school players in the country. His 2011 season at USC was very good as he completed nearly 70 percent of his passes, along with 3,528 yards and 39 touchdowns to just seven interceptions.
Barkley's announcement will come about a week after the news broke that his offensive tackle, Matt Kalil, is entering the draft. Both players should be selected very high if they are indeed in April's draft.
The crew over at SB Nation's Mocking The Draft has him going to the Washington Redskins with the fifth pick in their latest 2012 NFL mock draft.
