The first group of players to arrive at the 2011 NFL Combine in Indianapolis were kickers, offensive linemen and tight ends -- hardly an exciting group. The second group, though, will draw some attention. On Thursday we'll see quarterbacks, receivers and running backs arrive at the Combine in Indy.
That includes the top two quarterbacks in the 2011 NFL draft Blaine Gabbert and Cam Newton. As it's been reported, Gabbert will not be throwing this week but will perform other drills like running. As of now, Newton is planning on doing all workouts, including throwing.
Top receivers include Alabama's Julio Jones and Georgia's A.J. Green. Both players are incredibly athletic and should do really well at Combine week (since it's made for players like them).
The running back class isn't very strong this year so there aren't any major notables outside of Alabma's Mark Ingram (he's the only first-rounder in SB Nation's latest NFL mock draft).
The players will go through registration and some pre-workout medical exams before meeting with various NFL teams Thursday evening.
