2011 NFL Mock Draft: Cleveland Browns Select DT Marcell Dareus

The Cleveland Browns are up next in SB Nation's 2011 NFL mock draft and with the sixth pick Dawgs By Nature has selected Alabama DT Marcell Dareus. We haven't seen this pick mocked to the Browns a lot because many have Dareus off the board before the sixth pick.

SB Nation's Dawgs By Nature explains the pick:

It was difficult to see Patrick Peterson and A.J. Green drafted in front of the Browns. Defensive line might be the biggest need that Cleveland has, but I think this class is deep enough that quality linemen would have still been available in the second round. With that said, after seeing the top two players on my draft board disappear, it isn't like I will be disappointed by the team grabbing an elite defensive lineman here in Marcell Dareus.

Check out Mocking The Draft for the entire explanation including where the Browns stand right now on the defensive line.

What other pick I might consider is WR Julio Jones. Personally, I don't see him that far behind Georgia's A.J. Green. I think it's important that, if the Browns are committing to Colt McCoy, that they give him the tools necessary to succeed.

That said, it's hard to argue with Dareus. Check out Mocking The Draft to see what they're saying about the pick.
