2011 NFL Mock Draft: Washington Redskins Select DE Robert Quinn

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Washington Redskins are on the clock in SB Nation's 2011 NFL mock draft and Hogs Haven has their pick -- UNC DE Robert Quinn. The 10th overall pick will go to a guy who sat our the entire 2010 college football season but has a lot of upside.

Hogs Haven reasons there aren't the character concerns with him you might hear about (read this) and he'll be a steal with the 10th pick. Our own Mocking The Draft responds:

Character is not what should be questioned in Quinn. What should be is whether or not he'd be able to transition to playing linebacker. At North Carolina, Quinn was almost always used moving forward from the defensive end spot. He'll also go to a team being extremely rusty after sitting out the 2010 season.

If this pick works, think about Quinn and Orakpo rushing the passer. That's an intimidating combo and one you can build a defense around. I'm skeptical as to whether it will work and what kind of time Quinn will need to get back into the swing of things but the idea of it is a great one.
