The San Diego Chargers have one of the most talented rosters and they'll look to add to it in SB Nation's 2011 NFL mock draft. Selecting for the Chargers will be SB Nation's Bolts From The Blue.
With the 18th overall pick, the Chargers select California DE Cameron Jordan. The Chargers address their defense who, statistically, had a great year. However, statistics can be misleading, writes Bolts From The Blue.
Cameron Jordan is ideal for the 3-4 since he can both eat up space when necessary, but is agile enough to break containment and stop ballcarriers. He doesn't have to be the guy that gets the sacks in this defense, he just needs to be a menace that works for four quarters and attracts the attention of offensive linemen. For this son of a former NFL player, that's right in his wheelhouse.
This pick really comes down to whether he's the best defensive end on the board because I think the Chargers are going defensive end. If he's the best on the board, he's the pick. I feel pretty confident that they're looking at someone like Jordan, if he falls.
