Read More: Sedrick Ellis (DT - NOS), New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints are next on the clock in SB Nation's 2011 NFL mock draft and with the 24th pick Canal Street Chronicles goes with a big defensive tackle in Muhammad Wilkerson out of Temple. Only a junior, Wilkerson is considered by many to be a good value late in the first round so this spot suits him well.
We know what the Saints offense can do so now it's time they address the defense. Wilkerson will be paired alongside former top 10 pick DT Sedrick Ellis to open up the pass rushing lanes for the Saints, Canal Street Chronicles writes.
It would be a crime for me to pass up the opportunity to take him here for New Orleans. Sedrick Ellis has been holding his own on the inside of the defensive line, but he needs some help, and the Saints have lacked depth at the position for years. Hopefully, Wilkerson puts an end to that problem. He's known to be scheme diverse, so the Saints could even move him over to defensive end as needed.
As Mocking The Draft notesin response to the pick, it's hard to see DE Aldon Smith continue to fall as he's one of the better pass rushers in the draft.
