2011 NFL Draft Order: Complete Schedule From The First Pick To The Last Pick
We've been reading 2011 NFL mock drafts for months and we've known the 2011 NFL draft order since the Super Bowl ended two months ago. The Carolina Panthers will be picking first and the 2011 Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers will be rounding out the first round of the draft.
The NFL draft will kick off with the first round on Thursday night followed by the second and third rounds on Friday night. The fourth through seventh rounds will be completed on Saturday.
For the most part, the NFL draft has the poor teams at the top and the good teams at the bottom. There are, however, a few exceptions. One of those is the Dallas Cowboys, who pick ninth. Normally, a team picking ninth wouldn't have a very bright future but the Cowboys actually do. They played much of the 2010 season without QB Tony Romo which contributed to their poor season. But, Romo will be back in 2011, and the Cowboys should be playoff contenders.
Likewise, there are occasionally teams picking at the bottom of the first round that aren't as good as it may seem. One of those would be the Seattle Seahawks. They played in the historically bad NFC West last season, making the playoffs and actually upsetting the New Orleans Saints in the wildcard round. They're picking 25th which would suggest, according to the draft order, they're the eighth best team. I don't think many people believe that. They're picking that low thanks to winning the NFC West which, frankly, isn't much of an accomplishment.
