SB Nation's 2011 NFL mock draft moves onto the 53rd overall pick which is owned by the Indianapolis Colts. Stampede Blue looks to shore up that defense and selects S Quinton Carter.
Bob Sanders leaves. A new safety comes in. Here's what Stampede Blue says:
Strong safety is a very important position in the Tampa 2. Carter can thrive in Larry Coyer's system, which took a step back last year due in part to the injuries at safety.
They'd really like to go with a defensive tackle here but they're stuck in that area where it's just not a good value. Sanders was such a force at safety (when healthy) for the Colts so they're hoping Carter can turn into the same.
