Mel Kiper's Final 2011 NFL Draft Big Board Keeps Patrick Peterson At Top

Stay connected with SB Nation

The 2011 NFL draft is just over 24 hours away and ESPN's Mel Kiper has released his final big board of the draft season. Remaining at No. 1 is LSU CB Patrick Peterson.

Among some of the notable rankings:

-DT Marcell Dareus jumps ahead of DT Nick Fairley is this edition of the big board. Dareus is four and Fairley is five this week and their roles were reversed in the last edition.

-QB Blaine Gabbert is the 14th best prospect, one spot ahead of QB Cam Newton. They were ranked the same way last week as well. It sounds like Newton will be selected ahead of Gabbert, possibly No. 1 to the Carolina Panthers.

-DT Corey Liuget is ranked as the 11th best prospect which is interesting when you see Bill Parcells has a second round grade on him.

It doesn't look like there were many changes, as it should be. These players' values haven't changed much because many of them haven't played a game since January. While we talk about risers and fallers, the most important part of a player's draft grade is based on the game tape.
