NFL Trade Rumors Now Point To Browns, Falcons With Julio Jones In Play

Stay connected with SB Nation

The 2011 NFL draft is less than an hour away and there's an awful lot of talk out there about the Atlanta Falcons trying to move up into the top 10 of the draft. Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com previously reported that Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff wants to get a play maker and that list included WR A.J. Green, WR Julio Jones and CB Patrick Peterson.

It seems the best guess right now is that Green will be drafted fourth by the Cincinnati Bengals and Peterson has a shot at being drafted fifth by the Arizona Cardinals.

That leaves the Cleveland Browns, a team that is trying to trade down. Glazer's prediction is that it's "likely" that Atlant and Cleveland will make a trade that will put the Falcons at the sixth spot.

The target, according to Glazer, will be Jones.

This would be a major trade and one that would presumably cost the Falcons their 2012 first round pick. I just don't see the value in doing this. The Falcons are already a solid team and they just need to continue adding pieces -- not take draft picks away.

We'll see if it happens.

The first round of the 2011 NFL Draft starts at 8 p.m. (ET) on Thursday, April 28th and SB Nation has everything you need to prepare for it - NFL mock drafts, draft projections, scouting reports, the full NFL draft order and more.
