2011 NFL Draft Results: San Diego Chargers Take Marcus Gilchrist

Stay connected with SB Nation

With the 50th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers picked Marcus Gilchrist, a defensive back from Clemson. Gilchrist is a little small for a shutdown corner, but he has the strength to make plays and bring down ball-carriers.

The Chargers have now taken the second player from Clemson in this draft who is not Da'Quan Bowers, and added Gilchrist to Illinois defensive tackle Corey Liuget. San Diego also has three more picks today, one in the second round and two in the third.

For more on the pick and Gilchrist's new home, head over to SB Nation's Bolts From the Blue.

The second round of the 2011 NFL draft is underway. Day two of the draft will feature the second round with seven minutes between each pick and the third round with five minutes between each pick.
