2011 NFL Draft Results: Carolina Panthers Pick DT Sione Fua

With the 97th pick in the 2011 NFL draft, the Carolina Panthers select DT Sione Fua.

This was actually the Panthers compensatory pick which they received via the departure of DE Julius Peppers. So they lose a defensive lineman and replace him with a defensive lineman.

Fua is 6'1" and 310 pounds with NFL Network's Mike Mayock calling him a real "point of attack" type of player. He's strong and athletic and should fit in well as the Panthers start to revamp their defensive line.

The third round of the 2011 NFL draft is underway. Day two of the draft will feature the second round with seven minutes between each pick and the third round with five minutes between each pick.
