2011 NFL Undrafted Free Agents Contacted By Teams Despite Lockout, According To Report

The list of players that will eventually comprise the 2011 NFL Draft's undrafted free agents crop certainly has all 32 teams eagerly anticipating the green light to start a-signin', but it sounds like some teams just haven't been able to wait, according to a report at least. Pro Football Weekly's Eric Edholm reports six agents have claimed their clients have been contacted by NFL teams, which is impermissible until the ongoing lockout lifts. Pre-lockout contact would constitute tampering.

One player, Missouri Tigers center Tim Barnes, names the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins as having contacted him after the draft.

PFW's cited agents allege teams have contacted UDFA players from official team phones and from personal cell phones. So far teams have denied the charges, and NFL spokesman Greg Aiello says the NFL hasn't been presented with any evidence worth investigating.
