Jan 4, 2012 - Montee Ball, the Wisconsin Badgers standout running back, will skip the 2012 NFL Draft and remain in school for another year, according Badger247. The junior is expected to make an official statement later on Wednesday.
Following Wisconsin's Rose Bowl loss to Oregon, Ball said he had made a decision about entering the draft, but did not give any indication as to which way he was leaning.
"Basically, I looked myself in the mirror and told myself what I needed to do for me, what I needed to do for my family and for my teammates," Ball said. "And that's what it came down to."
If Ball had decided to come out, he would have been leaving on a high note. During his junior year, he rushed for more than 1,900 yards and scored 39 touchdowns. In his season finale, he rushed for 164 yards.
Ball is expected to once again be joined by running back James White in the backfield. White has rushed fore more than 1,700 yards and scored 20 touchdowns in his first two seasons.
