Record-setting Arizona St. Sun Devils quarterback Brock Osweiler has decided to leave ASU and enter the 2012 NFL Draft, a school announcement made official Friday.
Osweiler was the first quarterback in ASU history to throw for more than 4,000 yards in a season, finishing with 4,036 yards and 26 touchdowns. It's rumored that the departure of OC Noel Mazzone has a strong effect on the QB leaving the program.
Osweiler was initially expected to hold a press conference but he and his manager decided against it, according to the school. According to the release, he also conferring withnewly hired head coach Todd Graham.
The QB set school records for completions (326), attempts (516) and completion percentage (63.2), and threw for 26 touchdowns, the fourth most in school history.

Brad Denny over at SB Nation's Arizona State blog House of Sparky notes that the surprise decision by Osweiler is just one surprise of many in what's being labeled a "tumultuous time in Sun Devil football history."
Osweiler's decision is the latest occurrence in perhaps the most tumultuous time in Sun Devil football history. A season ending four-game losing streak necessitated the firing of head coach Dennis Erickson, and the resulting search was a disaster that ended with key assistants lost and the surprising hiring of Graham. A blowout loss in the Maaco bowl to Boise State was preceded by suspensions to Jamal Miles and Junior Onyeali, and most recently, Onyeali was suspended indefinitely by Todd Graham.
