Mackey Award winner Dwayne Allen is the top-ranked tight end in the NFL Draft

Dwayne Allen had a solid 2010 season and was expected to have an even more productive 2011 season, but few pegged him to win the Mackey Award as college football's top tight end. After a fantastic junior season that featured 50 receptions for 598 yards and eight touchdowns, Allen has decided to enter the NFL Draft while his stock is at its highest.

Allen has NFL size at 6'4", 255 pounds and is widely regarded as the best tight end available. His combination of size, athletic ability and pass-catching skills means that he will have a good chance to contribute at the NFL level very early in his career. SB Nation's NFL Draft blog Mocking The Draft currently has Allen as their 30th ranked prospect overall, and their No. 1 tight end by some distance.
