The Chicago Bears missed out on the playoffs in 2011 due in part to untimely injuries to key players. They will have some weaknesses they'll look to shore up in 2012, however, which they will be doing under the guidance of a brand-new general manager.
The Bears have a relatively small class of players who will enter free agency on March 13, but there are important names in that class that they will likely look to retain.The most notable name is that of Matt Forte, Chicago's star running back. The Bears are unlikely to let Forte slip through their fingers and will likely place the franchise tag on him if they are unable to work out a long-term deal.
