Analysis

1

Carolina Panthers

Nick Fairley (DT/DE) - 6'5'' 298lb - Auburn

Turning this team around starts with a strong, physical, mean defensive tackle.

2

Denver Broncos

Da'Quan Bowers (DE) - 6'4'' 280lb - Clemson

John Fox gets his next version of Julius Peppers.  With Bowers on the left side and Dumervill on the right - this time will quickly improve its sack total from dead last in the league

3

Buffalo Bills

Patrick Peterson (CB) - 6'1'' 222lb - LSU

The Bills will take the best player on the board - this could be Peterson, Green, or Miller.  Peterson is arguably the best player in the draft and can help a young defense

4

Cincinnati Bengals

AJ Green (WR) - 6'4'' 200lb - Georgia

Ocho Cinco and TO are gone.  Regardless - AJ Green is a special prospect and will help change the dynamics of this offense which seriously needs a spark

5

Arizona Cardinals

Von Miller (OLB) - 6'2'' 240lb - Texas A&M

The Cardinals need to improve their LB corp especially at the rush line backer position.  Von Miller has had a tremendous off season.  Schefter has praised Miller as a top 5 pick.

6

Cleveland Browns

Robert Quinn (DE/OLB) - 6'5'' 265lb - UNC

With Dick Jauron coming to town - the Browns need a pure 4-3 pass rusher and Robert Quinn is a fantastic prospect.  WR can come in the 2nd round.

7

San Francisco 49ers

Blaine Gabbert (QB) - 6'5'' 240lb - Missouri

The 49ers need to find a QB.  Gabbert is currently rated the top QB prospect and Haurbaugh is the kind of coach that can bring out his potential.

8

Tennessee Titans

Prince Amukamara (CB) - 6'1'' 200lb - Nebraska

This is a tough pick.  Titans will go veteran QB.  The pass defense is ranked 29th in the league.  Prince is a special prospect.  Titans go defense.

9

Dallas Cowboys

Anthony Castonzo (OT) - 6'7'' 308lb - BC

Jason Garret's first draft.  He needs to imrpove the offensive line - and especially find a long term solution at LT to protect Romo's blind side.

10

Washington Redskins

Cam Newton (QB) - 6'6'' 246lb - Auburn

Cam Newton seams to be a popular place for Newton to fall.  Shanahan can mould Newton into the type of QB he wants in his system.

11

Houston Texans

Ryan Kerrigan (DE/OLB) - 6'4'' 255lb - Purdue

Wade Phillips finds his next Demarcus Ware.  Kerrigan had a monster senior bowl and will play rush LB at the night level for Phillips.  Kerrigan and Mario Williams = awesome

12

Minnesota Vikings

Marcell Dareus (DT/DE) - 6'3'' 306lb - Alabama

Pat Williams is a free agent - and old.  Dareus falls into the laps of the Vikings who will strengthen their run defense.  Frazier will love Dareus

13

Detroit Lions

Akeem Ayers (OLB) - 6'3'' 254lb - UCLA

The Lions need to imrpove their OLB - and Ayers is a great prospect.  Improve both rush and pass defense

14

St. Louis Rams

Julio Jones (WR) - 6'4'' 210lb - Alabama

Julio Jones falls into the Rams lap - finding Sam Bradford a great weapon

15

Miami Dolphins

Mark Ingram (RB) - 5'10'' 215lb - Alabama

Chad Henne is still in the plans.  Who replaces Ricky Willams and Ronnie Brown?  Mark Ingram or Mikel Leshoure

16

Jacksonville Jags

Aldon Smith (DE) - 6'4'' 258lb - Missouri

Jags bring in a pure pass rusher as they build a dominant defensive line.

17

New England Pats

Cameron Jordan (DE/DT) - 6'4'' 287lb - Cal

Cam Jordan had a great senior bowl - this pick helps to improve a young defensive line.

18

San Diego Chargers

Corey Liuget (DE/DT) - 6'3'' 300lb - Illinois

Bring more depth and talent to the defensive line.

19

New York Giants

Nate Solder (OT) - 6'8'' 315lb - Colorado

The offensive line needs more talent and depth to protect Manning's blind side and create holes for Brandon Jacobs

20

Tamba Bay Bucs

Adrian Clayborn (DE) - 6'4'' 285lb - Iowa

Bring in a big time DE to create a young dominant defensive line

21

Kansas City Chiefs

Titus Young (WR) - 5'11'' 175lb - Boise State

Titus Young had a great senior bowl - and the Chiefs need a weapon across Bowe

22

Indy Colts

Gabe Carimi (OT) - 6'7'' 315lb - Wisconsin

I don't need to explain this pick

23

Phildelphia Eagles

Mike Pouncey (G) - 6'5'' 320lb - Florida

Vick needs more protection especially on the inside.  Pouncey is the number one guard on the board.

24

New Orleans Saints

JJ Watt (DE/DT) - 6'6'' 287lb - Wisconsin

Watt is projected to play in a 3-4 defense but I think he will fit into Greg Williams aggressive system next to Sedrick Ellis just fine.

25

Seatle Seahawks

Brandon Harris (CB) - 5'11'' 195lb - Miami

Seahawks need a talented corner to help improve pass defense

26

Baltimore Ravens

Tyron Smith - (OT) - 6'6'' 285lb - USC

Jared Gather is a free agent.  Flacco was under pressure through out the playoffs.  Tyron Smith is raw but talented - a lot like Mike Oher coming out of college

27

Atlanta Falcons

Jonathan Baldwin (WR) - 6'5'' 220lb - Pittsburgh

Finding Ryan another weapon is important

28

New England Pats

Jimmy Smith (CB) - 6'2'' 205lbs - Colorado

Who plays next to Devin McCourty?  Pats pass defense ranks 30th in the league

29

Chicago Bears

Derek Sherrod (OT) - 6'6'' 312lb - Miss St.

Protect Jay Cutler.  We saw how bad this offensive line is in the NFC Championship.

30

New York Jets

Cameron Heyward (DT/DE) - 6'6'' 287lb - Ohio St.

Improve defensive line

31

Pittsburgh Steelers

Muhammed Wilkerson (DE/DT) - 6'5'' 301lb - Temple

Bring in more depth at the defensive line.  The rich get richer

32

Green Bay Packers

Justin Houston (OLB) - 6'3'' 254lb - Georgia

Bring in a OLB prospect to play across from Clay Matthews.
