I am bit confused as to why Blaine Gabbert is being mocked so highley, even by the "experts." Before he declared I don't think anyone considered him a T10 or even T5 prospect. I got the feeling he was a fringe first rounder at best. For instance he's currently ranked 75th on Dan's board.
Now I know that many didn't think he was coming out, but even still I never got the feeling that if he did he'd be taken early in the first round. With the news being so closely tied with Andrew Luck's decision to stay in school, it seems to me people are over reacting about where he will get selected.
Obviously anything can happen between now and the draft in April, but I'd be surprised if Gabbert was taken in the first half of the draft and if he's any higher than the 3rd QB taken. I like Gabbert as prospect, and would love for my team (Jaguars) to get him, but not early in the first.
I'm no expert when it comes to watching film, but he definitely has a lot of polishing to do and would definitely have benefited from another year in college. Statically he digressed, for whatever reasons, from last year having a pretty average year. Please, tell me where/why I'm wrong. Who knows, maybe the Jaguars will trade up and select him early in the first.
