The schedule for the first two games of the 2011 ALCS between the Detroit Tigers and the Texas Rangers has been set following the Detroit's 3-2 victory over the New York Yankees in the ALDS on Thursday.
The first pitch of Game 1 will be thrown at 8:05 p.m. ET on Saturday in Texas, and will begin broadcasting at 7:30 on FOX. Detroit's Justin Verlander is set to pitch against C.J. Wilson for the Rangers. Verlander pitched nine innings split over two games in the ALDS, giving up seven hits and six earned runs. The ace fared much better than Wilson, however, who gave up the same numbers in just five innings, a bad stretch that included three home runs.
Coverage for Game 2 will begin at 7:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, with the first pitch schedule for 7:45 p.m. Starters have yet to be named, though based on the rotation Max Scherzer and Derek Holland are expected to take the mound for the Tigers and Rangers, respectively.
