It started out as a rough night for the UCLA Bruins, as the Kansas Jayhawks jumped out on an early 10-2 run, promptly forcing a UCLA timeout so the Bruins could collect themselves. The timeout didn't seem to help much, as the Jayhawks continues to sink baskets and add to their lead, heading into halftime with a 43-26 lead.
In the second half, the Bruins got back into the game a little bit and actually outscored the Jayhawks in the second half, but the lead the Bruins have up in the first half was just too much to overcome as Kansas eventually won 72-46. Elijah Johnson lead the way for the Jayhawks, putting up 23 points including hitting four three-point shots. Thomas Robinson also had a nice night with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
For the Bruins, Tyler Lamb and Jerime Anderson led the way in defeat scoring 15 and 14 points respectively. Big Joshua Smith was limited in the game, with just 1 point and 1 rebound, limited to just 13 minutes on the floor because of foul trouble.
