In this mock I am not projecting any trades. but I think Oz will move around a little. I am assuming that we pick in the 29-32 range.
Yes I know I didn't mock us any linebackers and that is because I don't think very many will fall to the ends of rounds. Although if Te'o falls to us, snatch 'im up. Besides, did you see the defense without Ray Lewis against San Fransisco? 9 sacks and 179 total yards allowed? Will we realistically miss him that much???
Round 1 - Barrett Jones, OL, Alabama. 6'5'', 311.
Bryant McKinnie has been responsible for most of our sacks this year, and if you think Jah Reid can hold it down you're crazy. Jones can play 4 OL positions and will be our bookend left tackle for the next decade.
Round 2 - Markelle Martin, S, Oklahoma State. 6'1'', 202.
Round 3 - William Vlachos, C, Alabama. 6'2'', 294.
Round 4 - No pick (to Buffalo for Lee Evans). Worst trade ever he has 3 catches in 13 games! AAAGGGH!!
Round 5 - Rokevious Watkins, OL, South Carolina. 6'4'', 340.
Our best lineman, guard Ben Grubbs, will be a free agent after this year. We can't afford to bring him back [ ;'( ] because that money is going to Joe Flacco and Ray Rice. Watkins will compete with Justin Boren for the starting job.
Round 6 - Chandler Harnish, QB, Northern Illinois. 6'2'', 220.
If Tyrod Taylor doesn't pan out we need a backup QB. And if he turns out to be a Vick-like talent like many predict he will, we will have a solid backup in place.
Round 7 - Tashaun Gipson, DB, Wyoming. 6'0'', 195.
Dominique Foxworth will be gone after this year (he's always hurt and with Lardarius Webb, Cary WIlliams, Jimmy Smith and Chris Carr we don't need him). Gipson can compete with Danny Gorrer and Chykie Brown for dime and quarter package.
Let me know what you think
